Since I was a child, I have always been obsessed with the idea of a picnic. When I was very young, I can remember packing up a few items from my Grandmother’s house and setting up a blanket in her backyard with my childhood friend, Tracey. Then a little later in elementary school I remember how excited I was to find a brand new picnic basket (which I still have BTW) at a neighborhood yard sale–thrifty from the start. I also remember a rather lovely afternoon with my Aunts at a local park next to the lake, perched beneath a willow tree enjoying a picnic lunch. Maybe it’s nostalgia or perhaps I have always just enjoyed the intimacy of a quaint picnic.
As the season is changing and warmer weather is rolling in, it leaves me wanting to get out my basket and prepare an afternoon outing. I have shopped some of my favorite picnic accessories that are available now.
ONE: A picnic starts with the perfect blanket, I love that this option is not only beautiful, but water resistant making it a little easier to find a day to steal away.
TWO: Spice up your couple picnic with a bottle of wine. This set will help keep from spilling! Ashley proofing your picnic.
THREE: I’m a little bug paranoid. You? These tents come in a two pack, and I love the size which make them easy to fold away, but still large enough to use for a barbecue for a larger party as well.
FOUR: A big kids picnic basket. This guy is expensive, but beautiful and fully loaded, and I adore that it comes with an insulated cooler.
FIVE: If you are like me, that cooler probably isn’t going to hold quite enough food…. I love this stacking easy carry set from Rachel Ray.
I hope you enjoyed this picnic shop post, let me know if I forgot any of your favorite items!- Maybe this got you inspired to prepare a picnic lunch for the weekend? If so, here are some recipes you might want to keep in mind. Also, I think any of these items would make a perfect off the registry bridal shower gift!
