I’ve never been one to spend money on beauty products that I’m not already familiar with or that was not recommended by a trusted beauty expert; therefore, my lipstick collection isn’t the largest. But I do have a few go to brands that I absolutely love! Here are three of my favorite in some of my favorite shades! Do you have any favorite lipstick brands?
- NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Yu. This is my absolute favorite! It is the easiest to apply, stays fairly long, and has great color choices, Yu being my favorite for a bright pop of color in the warmer months! It is pricier then some other brands of lip pencils (a Sephora employee once told me they go up $1 each year), however I find them superior and worth the money especially considering that since I do not wear mine on a daily bases they last for quite some time. A own a few different colors in not only the satin lip pencil but also the velvet matte lip pencil and would highly recommend either as a great investment for any woman who wants to rock a lip color but with easy application.
- MAC Matte Viva Glam I. Red lips are always in style and this is one of my favorite shades! It is the perfect pop for my pale skin, I do recommend that you always buy a shade of red that works with your skin tone. I also recommend for long lasting wear you pre-line your lips fully (meaning lining the outside then filling in the inside) with a lip liner that closely matches your lipstick color, for this color I use MAC Lip Pencil in Brick. I think every woman should have a red lipstick in her collection of beauty products, and it is definitely worth the time to find the perfect shade!
- Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Merlot. This is a new beauty product I acquired this past fall after hunting for the perfect dark shade of red when I found this on the blog Atlantic to Pacific. I red some reviews and decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed! It is the most luscious shade of dark merlot and is the perfect moody statement for the fall and winter months. My only call out is that it does bleed quite a lot, so you need to make sure to take your time priming you lips for this color and you will need to reapply often to maintain the rich shade. I would not recommend this for day to day but it is perfect for a night out! It is a gloss, which I was surprised to like so much because I usually prefer matte but the shine works well with the moody shade. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has been looking for a dark merlot lip color!
