When my husband and I first moved in together, finding the perfect coffee table was very important to me. I searched for awhile to make sure I found the look I wanted at a price my then fiance wouldn’t freak out over. Now that I have it, my favorite thing to do is style it with different trinkets, books, magazine or whatever is seasonal for the time! It’s important to remember when styling your own coffee table to keep it beautiful but functional. Below are five of my best tips coffee table styling at home!
Keep it simple. Find a great tray that you can layer everything onto or just to carrel the important things like your remotes or coasters. By layering all your pieces onto the tray is a great way to keep the rest of your coffee table free for functional purposes or if you decided just to place your essential like your remotes in it, it keeps everything looking clean and organized!
Don’t forget to check under your table. If you happen to have one of those coffee tables that has a bottom shelf, don’t forget to style that too so it doesn’t look forgotten! These are great spaces to add your large table top books or an empty decorative vase. My table doesn’t have a bottom shelf, so to fill that space I have a large basket that I keep extra blankets! i alos love when people can fit poofs under their table for extra seating at a moments notice!
Bring the outdoors in. Add fresh flowers or greens to your table to add a fresh look and some texture. Combine them with a simple vase so they stand out! Not only will your table look beautiful, your room will have a lovely scent!
Get personal. You don’t want your table styling to look like you ripped it out of a magazine. So add special pieces that you love to accent the look and bring a personal touch! On our honeymoon, we went to a murano glass factory and I splurged and bought this beautiful glass trinket tray with gold foil in it. It is something that I cherish and love to look at so I always make sure to find a spot for it on my table whenever I restyle it.
Have fun! Don’t take styling your coffee table so serious and don’t expect perfection! Remember, it should be functional as well as pretty! My favorite part about styling my coffee table is restyling it for different occasions or to just change things up!
