9 Things You’ve Always Wanted To Know About Us

Time really does fly when you’re having fun! I can’t believe it has almost been a year since we had these photos taken, so much has changed.  Even though we’ve been using these photos for awhile (I guess you could say this post was a long time coming), we had so much fun taking these we still wanted to share some of the outtakes…they really say a lot about us!

We want to thank our lovely friend Tara Kavanaugh, from Kavanaugh Photography for trekking around Lawrenceville with us for the perfect location (and for standing on private property with us). I know I at least am definitely not an easy subject, so it took some extra work to get the perfect shot. We had an afternoon full of laughs followed by a great lunch at Church Brew Works.

Every time I see these pictures all I can think about is how much I miss that turquoise ring!! (fyi it met it’s fate right after this shoot…the stone cracked)

Oh, by the way! Most importantly….. today is Lyndsay’s birthday! So Happy Birthday to this beautiful woman, inside and out, whose friendship I’ve been so thankful for. It is a real honor to have you and Jeff as family, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years of friendship bring us.

Just for fun, we decided to share 9 things you’ve always wanted to know about us-because honestly, we knew you were dying to know!

9 things you've always wanted to know about us

9 things you've always wanted to know about us-2

Q: Do you/ have you had any nicknames, and if so what?

AM: Growing up the neighbors called me “Spaz” because well, I was / am a total spaz. Then in high-school I got A.Rae, which is something I’ve also been referred to in a professional setting, surprisingly and totally unprovoked btw.

LK: Mainly just Lynds, but when my younger brother was a baby he used to call me Zay; honestly, I would totally be open to bringing that back.

Q: Which “Friends” character do you relate to most?

AM: Haha, my husband says I am definitely a Monica (#totalspaz) but I definitely feel like I channel some of Phoebe’s eccentric spirit.

LK: Monica, hands down. #noshame

Q: What did you want to be when you were growing up?

AM: An animator for Disney. One year on a family trip around Easter a park official followed my family around to inquire about our “knock off shirts” that I made. *SMH* I’m so embarrassed by the idea of these shirts now.

LK: Basically I wanted to be an Olsen twin.  I owned literally all of their movies and they were the ones who ultimately led me towards my love of fashion & going to FIT (except in the movie they went to FIDM in California).

Q: An APP you couldn’t live without?

AM: Instagram (obvi.) and my calendar app. I am the annoying wife who adds everything to a calendar and sends her husband invites….

LK: I’m super lame with technology, especially for someone in the field I’m in.  But truthfully, I can’t live without my calendar app & the weather app-I check them every morning (both apps come with your iPhone).  I would be 100% open to trying any cool apps people can suggest though!

Q: What are you completely over and done with?

AM: Ketchup. It’s a condiment I haven’t used in like six years. #foodonmymind

LK: People from Long Island thinking they’re from Texas.  And crop tops.

Q: What are you afraid of?

AM: Can I only name one? HAHA. Definitely the dark…..Even in my own home.

LK: Home invasion and darkness (specifically being alone in the dark outside). #shitjustgotreal

Q: Favorite movie?

AM: SOOO Many to choose from: The Graduate/ Practical Magic/ My Best Friend’s Wedding

LK: This is tough because I have such a love for movies but if we are basing it on the movies I’ve seen the most times it would probably be a tie between When Harry Met Sally and Roman Holiday.

Q: Name someone you admire and why.

AM:My mom. Without going into detail, she’s had a lot of tough experiences in life. None have ever got her down or stopped her from being a great daughter, sister, and mother and friend to me. Her survival story is an inspiration.

LK: Basically every female in  my family, but I have to call out my grandmothers in particular.  As I’ve gotten older, I’ve been blessed to get to know them and hear their stories.  Neither of them are with me anymore, but I still feel like I learn new things about them every year.  Just knowing their struggles and seeing the kinds of families they raised despite that is really inspiring!

Q: If you could be on any reality TV show, which would it be?

AM: Big Brother! I’ve watched since the beginning.. ohh or maybe Southern Charm! Can I just be Patricia?!

LK: None.
